CANBERRA, Feb 8 AAP - Australian Greens leader Bob Brown has resisted sparking a debate
about forest management in the wake of the deadly Victorian bushfires.

The death toll from weekend blazes has risen to 35, police have said.

"It's horrible day for this country ... it's a horrendous tragedy occurring here,"

Senator Brown told reporters in Canberra, when asked whether the fires would raise the
issue of forest management and hazard reduction policies.
